Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), formerly Delhi Institute of Technology, is a premier engineering college in New Delhi, India. It is an autonomous institution of the Government of NCT of Delhi and is academically affiliated to Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi.
Until 2009, NSIT admitted students through the Common Entrance Examination(CEE) along with Delhi College of Engineering (now Delhi Technological University). Students are now admitted through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination(AIEEE).
As per Times of India's recent survey, NSIT takes 9th Position in top technology colleges of India.
NSIT has continuously been featuring in the Top 10 in the rankings of engineering colleges of India by various surveys conducted by bodies such as India Today, Outlook, Dataquest-NASSCOM etc.
On 10th June, 2013 Delhi Government decided to grant NSIT the status of a university and would be called NSIT University, Delhi.

Campus

The NSIT campus is located in Dwarka, in South West part of New Delhi. It is well connected and lies in proximity to the Dwarka Mor station of Delhi Metro. The Delhi government has proposed a Science and Technology Park (STP) at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) with the key objective being to 'establish Delhi as the hub of the knowledge industry'

Admissions

The admission towards a full-time Bachelor of Engineering degree in NSIT is through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. 85% of the seats are reserved for students who pass from high schools in the National Capital Territory of Delhi or Delhi region. The remaining 15% seats are for candidates from outside the Delhi region and are admitted on the basis of All India merit Rank in AIEEE. NSIT Admissions 2013 will be based on JEE Main 2013 Exam All Indian Rank.
Admission to postgraduate programs leading to M.Tech. degree is based on performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) qualifying exam, followed by an interview.
Admission to Ph.D programs is through written test, presentation and interview. The Institute offers Rs 25000/= pm as the Teaching-Cum-Research Fellowship (TRF) to all selected research scholars. The selected TRFs get an enhanced fellowship of Rs 30000/= pm from second year onwards after a rigorous review of the progress and research work of the candidates.
